JFK-Panama City (PTY)-Mexico City (MEX) and Back in 2 Days

A few weeks ago I headed to NYC for a party (sponsored by the great people at Conde Nast Traveler) to, in part, celebrate the CNT article about the *A DO last year. Of course in the middle of the event, a “mistake” fare on Copa Airlines (CM) was announced. The fare? $225 USD from [...]

*A Mega Do – Wall Street Journal Article

Well I haven’t finished my reporting yet (and I probably never will)…but in the meantime…here’s an article about our trip in the Wall Street Journal: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703808904574529622404278810.html

Condor charter flight across Europe: 1st leg – Frankfurt, Germany to Oslo, Norway

We boarded the charter flight way too early and were on our way to Oslo where we would meet with SAS and also pick up a few more FlyerTalkers. The meal on the short first leg was a standard cold breakfast of fruit, deli meats and yogurt. Of course, in true FlyerTalk fashion, I consumed [...]

LH405 – Lufthansa from JFK to Frankfurt and the JFK LH lounge

Wow what a day! After the bus trip to JFK we were invited into the 3-floor Lufthansa lounge. Not much to report here. Food is decent but not overwhelming. Drinks are flowing though! Had to go to the 2nd floor for real booze. The first floor of the lounge is the business class lounge. This [...]

a brief visit with Continental at Newark

So after relaxing in the Presidents Club for a bit I joined the rest of the group at the EliteAccess checkin area. We were divided up into three groups for tours. A very kind FTer switched with me so I could do something I’ve never done…tour a flight kitchen. Went for a quick tour of [...]

And we’re off (well I am) … to the Star Alliance Mega Do!

Pretty much everyone who knows me can tell you that I’m a travel nut. So how could I possibly pass up an opportunity to participate in the first Star Alliance “Mega Do”! (A “Do” is gathering of FlyerTalkers – www.flyertalk.com. FlyerTalk definitely has it’s own vocabulary…mostly consisting of abbreviations and acronyms.) So anyways…it’s off to [...]

ALB-IAD

Before I start, I should apologize for not posting in a very long time. Other things have kept me distracted.
Today I’m flying ALB-IAD-ORD-IAH. When I checked in this morning, the agent was very nice (she usually is, although she’s a self-admitted non-morning-person). Seeing her at about 5am, she was very curious as to my routing [...]

Dublin

Hello from Dublin! I’ll make another post at some point later on about the flights. They were good – nothing spectacular…and BMI charges for everything!
At least we made it! …more to come soon

Off to Dublin!

So it’s 10pm ET and I’m sitting in the RCC waiting for the IAD-LHR flight. I have no idea what nasty food we’ll be served, but I’ll be sure to take an iPhone picture! 14A&B are the seats. It’s a UA 777. No fancy new seat, but at least there’s some entertainment. From there we’ll [...]
